Roaring on the Lakeshore: Muskegon in the 1920s

Discover how the lumber and manufacturing industries shaped Muskegon's economy and culture, the rise of leisure activities like movie theaters, dance halls, and the burgeoning popularity of automobiles, the impact of national trends like flapper fashion and jazz music on the local scene, and the everyday lives of Muskegon residents, from factory workers to shopkeepers to socialites.
